we've had more rain than usual this month ...

but this storm was particularly strong

the afternoon had been calm and pleasant - then we looked to the south west and saw this massive black cloud approaching at a frightening rate

we grabbed the camera and hastily took these few photos while the wind began to blow furiously around us

in less than a couple of minutes, the storm was on top of us

the clouds looked very different from any storm clouds I had seen before

and then they changed to a greenish colour

and we dashed inside as the storm unleashed itself on us
we tried to capture the intensity of it with this short video clip

Those clouds are incredible!
In the third photo they look like a painting.
And the fourth like a swimming pool about to be released!

Wow, Shirl, that storm looks crazy!!!
Kind of looks like the typhoons we have here! Was there much damage or anything?

I love your blog by the way;O)

Love to you and your boys (Patrick included - LOL)...

Ruth, I loved your descriptions! I looked at them again, and yes, that is exactly what they looked like! ;o)

Hi Starr - we all decided that this was definitely either a cyclone or very close to one! It was in all the papers the next day, and actually ripped off a section of the church roof! Our house wasn't damaged fortunately.
