the road to the Kruger

I took some very rushed pictures from inside the car, on our recent 9 hour trip up to the Kruger.

Quite interesting to see the different landscapes and weather patterns along the way!

This was a Zionist church gathering in the bush on the side of the road - the boundaries marked with white-painted rocks

The rain became very thick, and it became quite hazardous at times, particularly with the many log trucks on this stretch of road

I've never known why the road workers place these rocks into these neat little straight lines like this
some parts of the trip were slowed down due to the heavy mist

Some parts just didn't look like Africa at all!

and then finally after a stop-over in White River, we were there!

Considering those road conditions, it's amazing it didn't take a lot longer to get there!! I have many memories (not always fond ones) of the trip to White River (my parents lived there for a while) behind the log trucks. Those Kruger gates must've looked extremely welcoming!

White River is so beautiful, your parents must have loved living there!
We left the Kruger via the Orpen gate which is much further north, and it took us 12 hours to get home!!!
